(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation Friday for Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Franklin, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, O'Brien, Palo Alto, Sioux, Winnebago, Worth and Wright counties in response to storms and flooding that took place beginning Sept. 19, 2018.
They say everything has to come to end. And unfortunately longtime business Johnson County Classics will close their doors for the last time following their three day auction. This Swea City business started as a fluke back in 1985 with a few odds and ends of furniture in the back of Don and Evelyn Johnson’s pick up truck.
By: Clinton J. Davis On Thursday, September 13 Highway 15 was partially shut down to one lane. Crew workers at Anderson Tiling tore up a section of the Highway to find a water hookup line for a new business to build between the VFW and Mayo Clinic.
Last weekend Armstrong Police Chief, Craig Merrill, posted to Facebook the dangers students could get themselves into during Homecoming week. This week North Union is celebrating Homecoming with various activities taking place throughout the week.
With just a few strokes of the keyboard, money was donated by local individuals to help purchase a book a month for students in the North Union Elementary - Swea City Campus. North Union kindergarten teacher Beth Pedersen came across a post shared by her co-worker Jordan Larson, who teaches fifth grade.
