On September 15th a car show that was originally scheduled for September 11th was held in Armstrong. The event was pushed back four days due to inclement weather. The event started at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ended with cars driving through town to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Happy birthday to my wife, Taylor, and my brother, Jason. They both share a birthday today, September 18. I have been in Taylors life for ten years which means ten birthdays. This may be the first year that I have been four weeks ahead of schedule when it comes to her gift.
Amanda Morris, one of the three team captains for the Happy Hoofer's Relay for Life team, presented Angie Olsen, Employee Health & Wellness RN two checks for the Avera Holy Family Foundation. One check was designated for the Holy Family Cancer Cares fund and the other was designated for the Holy Family Wig Bank.
North Union rolled up 400 yards of total offense, and the defense pitched a shutout as the green-black-and-silver posted a 44-0 homecoming victory on Friday, Sept. 13 in Armstrong over the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen Union Royals.
The St. Jude's car show and street dance has been postponed until September 15th (Sunday). Rain is projected all day today forcing the decision to be made. Times and events are planned as scheduled, only on Sunday the 15th.
Phil Albers will step down after 12 years as director of Swea City Ambulance on a very significant date for emergency responders – Sept. 11.
