The St. Jude Cruise, which was held in Armstrong on September 13, was a great success. Many people attended the event as cars of every kind packed the roads North and South of the city park. A free will donation meal was held with hot dogs and maidrites being served. A raffle was held as well as a live auction for many donated items.
Ten year old Kate Van Cleave and her eight year old brother, Colt, have an unusually close sibling bond. “They have always been close”, said their mother, Ashleigh (Newkirk) Van Cleave, “They don’t spend much time apart”. Casey Van Cleave rounds out the family circle as Kate and Colt’s father. That bond is about to get even stronger.
Marjory Randol (Caboth) lives in Weldon, Iowa and hasn’t had contact with anyone in the Armstrong area for a long time. She graduated from Armstrong in 1940 and moved to Southern Iowa after graduation. When in Armstrong she used to live on a farm home South of Armstrong, where Don and LaDonna Jensen currently reside.
Ryan Lang rushed for over 250 yards and scored five touchdowns for the second straight week on Saturday, Sept. 19 to lead the North Union Warriors to a big 38-9 homecoming victory over the Manson Northwest Webster Cougars in Armstrong.
SPRINGFIELD — From start to finish, the 2020 Minnesota amateur baseball season has faced problems.
The St. Jude’s Car Show/Cruise was a great success in Armstrong last Sunday. Bob Rooney did a great job organizing the event just as he did last year. There isn’t anything better than a small town like Armstrong getting together for something as great like St. Jude.
