Judge hears requests to dismiss charges
District Judge Nancy Wittenburg in separate hearings Monday heard motions to dismiss felony and serious misdemeanor charges against Armstrong Police Chief Craig Merrill and former City Clerk Connie Thackery.
Sandy Gappa will retire with 41 years in education
Sandy Gappa lived in Cylinder, Iowa and graduated from Emmetsburg High School. “Growing up at that time, girls basically had four careers to major in: nursing, secretarial, a beautician, or education,” Sandy explained. She chose education and ended up graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 1980.
Ringsted Library celebrates National Library Week
This week we all celebrate National Library Week with the Ringsted Library. Board members who are working to keep public libraries relavent are: Robin Hansen - President, Wiley Hansen - Secretary, Tom Garman - Vice President, Lisa Boyer - Trustee, and Lela Kruse - Trustee.
Andi Glasnapp a familiar face for locals
Andi Glasnapp graduated from Armstrong-Ringsted in 2012. She was a member of the last class to graduate from A-R. After graduating high school, she attended Iowa Lakes Community College and graduated from there in 2014 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science Surgical Technology.
Grussing sworn in as Armstrong Mayor
The Armstrong City Council Monday night swore in a new mayor and dealt with a number of other pressing matters.
