Do you miss having a department store in Bancroft? The Kennedy Bros. Store is now home to the Main Street Pub and Grill, and the business is flourishing. It is good to know that the building’s historical value is also being respected. At the risk of sounding trite, “they just don’t build them like that anymore.”
The Emmet County Board of Supervisors Thursday, Dec. 5 canvassed the results of the Dec. 3 Estherville mayor runoff special election. Joseph May was confirmed the winner with 371 votes with Ann Goebel receiving 194 votes. There was a scattering of four other votes.

Happy birthday to my wife, Taylor, and my brother, Jason. They both share a birthday today, September 18. I have been in Taylors life for ten years which means ten birthdays.
