Warriors’ football schedule released
The 2018 football schedule for the North Union Warriors was released last week by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. The green-black-and-silver knew who their district opponents were, but did not know until Wednesday who they would play in its non-district contests.
North Union opens the year on the road at Central Springs on Aug. 24, makes the long road trip to Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union on Sept. 7.
The green-black-and-silver travel to Britt to take on the Eagles of West Hancock and will conclude the season on Oct. 19 as they go to Sheffield to take on the West Fork Warriors.
The Warriors will have five home games in 2018 as its first home contest will come on Aug. 31 when they will host the Gaels of St. Edmond.
North Union will entertain the Bulldogs of Lake Mills on Sept. 14 and will host the Titans of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire the following Friday at Armstrong.
The green-black-and-silver will see the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears come to town on Oct. 5 and its final home game is slated for Oct. 12 against the Broncos of Belmond-Klemme.
