Linda L. Nemmers

Linda Lee (Parsons) Nemmers was born September 26, 1939, in Irvington, daughter of Ralph J. and Ruth E. (Kelley) Parsons.  She attended country school for a few years before her family moved to Algona where she graduated from Algona High School in 1958.  

Linda married Kenneth Nemmers on December 30, 1958, in Algona.  They lived in Waterloo for a year, then moved back to the Algona area and in 1966, they moved to Bancroft.  Linda worked for a short time at Winnebago Industries and the Heritage Nursing Home.  In March of 1974, she started at Snap-On Tools retiring there in September of 1999 after working there 25 and ½ years.

Linda enjoyed her flowers, reading, watching her grandchildren play sports along with watching her local school sports teams.  She enjoyed taking bus trips with her son, Tim to Major League Baseball parks and she enjoyed volunteering at the Heritage Nursing Home.  Linda was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church along with the Altar Society.

Linda L. Nemmers died Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Westview Care Center in Britt at the age of 86.

She is survived by two children, Timothy Nemmers of Forest City, and Laura Brock of Forest City; three grandchildren, Tara (Adam) Chamberlain of Waterloo, Timothy (Josey Sorenson) Brock of Ames, and Tyler Brock of Urbandale; two bonus great-grandchildren, Danica and Dakota Chamberlain; two great-grandchildren arriving in May and June, Baby Brock and Baby Chamberlain.  She is also survived by one sister, Sandra Hutchinson of Lone Rock; two brothers, Mike (Suzanne) Parsons of Cassville, MO, and Tom (Erma) Parsons of Burt; along with many nieces and nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on June 25, 1985; a stillborn daughter, Patricia Ann in October 1962; five brothers, Darwin, Richard, Dwight, Morris, and Jerry; and three sisters, Mary, Judy, and Ruthie; and her son-in-law, Everett Brock.

A funeral Mass was held Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Divine Mercy Parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bancroft with Father Zach Jones and Deacon Don McGuire officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Oakcrest Funeral Services of Bancroft in charge of arrangements.
