Dennis Charles Scholtes
Dennis Charles Scholtes “Denny” age 87 of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, July 8th 2021 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia.
Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, July 15th 2021 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, Minnesota. Officiating at the service were Rev. Glen Jenson and Rev. Brian Fier. Interment was held at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Loretto, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
Denny was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who was born on October 24, 1933. He was a lifelong professional musician, as well as a member of the Twin Cities Musicians Union #73. Specializing in classical and jazz music, Dennis made his career as a “Doubler”. Dennis was an avid reader. Deep discussions were a passion, and people would seek him out to engage in these in-depth conversations. Known for his sense of humor, Denny loved telling jokes. “Zoot”, his canine companion had a special place in his heart.
Denny was united in marriage to Lynn Fischbach on October 21st, 1967 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Denny graduated from MacPhail School of Music and Dramatic Art. Denny and Lynn have been longtime members of the Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, Minnesota.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Vi (Pehrson) Scholtes, parents-in-law Larry and Dorothy Fischbach. Survived by his wife Lynn of 54 years; son Nick; sister Marilyn (Bob) Rahe, as well as many extended family members.
