Harold Kardoes

Harold Frank Kardoes passed away on July 4th at the La Grange, Ga. hospital. He was born on August 24, 1940. He was 80-years-old. He and Beverly McElwee were married on February 11, 1961. They had 2 children, Kathy was born on September 29, 1961 and Randy was born on November 2, 1962. Randy was murdered on Memorial Day weekend, 2007. He is survived by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. One brother and one sisters are deceased.

Frank graduated from Swea City high school in 1958. While he was waiting for acceptance for college at Mankato State, he worked at a Farmers Elevator in Klemme, Iowa. After he got at Mankato State, he took classes in Chemistry, physics and math. When he finished at MS, he got a job at Armstrong Fire and rubber in Des Moines, Iowa. After working in Des Moines for a while, he got a job at Dixie Cap Co. in Athens, Ga. After he ha been there a while, he started his own company, Kardoes Rubber Co in LaFayette, Alabama but they lived in LaGrange, Ga and had lived there since 1981.

He sold the company to a foreign investor several years ago because his son murdered in 2007. Frank is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
