Janice L. Berven, the daughter of Oscar and Alice (Larson) Berven was born on October 22, 1936 in Swan Lake Township, Emmet County, Iowa. She died on March 12, 2023 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa at the age of 86 years.
A graveside service at Harrison Township Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Janice could sew anything, clothing for her children, her son’s graduation suits, and even cabbage patch dolls. She owned and operated Country Fashions where she made and sold clothing for dolls and people.
In her free time, she crafted ceramic dolls that she dressed and sold at craft shows. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, going camping and was an excellent cook. Janice’s passion was her flowers, especially her geraniums.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #5232.
Janice will be greatly missed by her children, Linnea Cook, Butch Looft, Mike (Staci) Looft, and Scott Looft; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; her brother Oscar K. Berven; and Dennis Looft.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Alice (Larson) Berven, and an infant son, Douglas.
