Mary Kramer

 Mary Kramer, age 86 of Bancroft, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Accura HealthCare in Bancroft. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bancroft. Inurnment will take place at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Bancroft. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Summit Center in Bancroft. 

Mary Helen Kramer, first born child to Edward Nicholas and Julia Agnes (Quinn) Goche was born on June 30, 1936. Mary was baptized on July 5, 1936, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bancroft, Iowa.  Mary was raised on the family farm north of Bancroft. Mary attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated in 1954.  

On August 28, 1954, Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Mathias Kramer at St. John’s Catholic Church, her Uncle Msgr. Robert Quinn performed the ceremony.  

Joe and Mary raised their family in Bancroft and Algona, Iowa.  In 1978 they moved to the Kramer family farm south of Bancroft to build Cable TV of North Kossuth, which they owned and operated. Joe and Mary also farmed together and had a quilting business.  Joe and Mary spent many retirement winters in Mesa, AZ  

Mary enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Mary enjoyed card club, making crafts, sewing, sharing her flower garden, and painting. Mary was a great cook and baker, especially her cinnamon rolls. Mary was member of St. John’s Alter Society, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister. Mary enjoyed having fun, a great sense of humor, friends of all ages and will be remembered by all as a “lady”.  

Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Joseph, their two sons, Joseph Edward in 1956 and John Joseph in 1979, her parents, Ed and Julia Goche, and her brother Jim.  Mary is survived by her children, Janice (Randy) Bleich of Pittsfield, IL, Juli (Eric) Kramer-Kilen, of MN, Cathy (Joe) Pohlman of Laurens, IA, and Suzy (Cliff) Field of Truckee, CA, 8 Grandchildren 3 step-grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 11 Step-Great-Grandchildren and 2 Step Great-Great Grandchildren.  Brother and Sisters Tom (Judy) Goche, Charlene (Maurice) Elsbecker and Jan (DeWayne) Hatten. And many nieces and nephews.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary’s honor. Her family will collect the memorials and they will be donated to Accura Healthcare of Bancroft and Kindred Hospice. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at www.lentzfuneralhome.com.
