Neomi “Maxine” Hoppus

Neomi “Maxine” Hoppus was born on November 11, 1926 in Dolliver, Iowa to William and Ellen (Ball) Ross.  She passed away on November 16, 2022 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa at the age of 96 years. A memorial service for Maxine will be held at a later date, she was laid to rest next to her husband, Don in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, Minnesota. 

Maxine graduated from Armstrong High School and was united in marriage to Donald Hoppus in Mankato, Minnesota on January 21, 1946.  Throughout her life she lived in Armstrong, Iowa, Ringsted, Iowa, Newhall, California, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Blue Earth, Minnesota, and lastly, Boone, Iowa. 

She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and Circle.  She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a lifetime member of the Hospital Association for Women in Blue Earth.

Maxine enjoyed crocheting and reading.  She was the New York Yankees’ biggest fan.  But most of all, she was an incredible and much loved Mother to her children and friend to many.

Maxine is survived by her children Connie (Harold) Johnson, Larry (Debbie) Hoppus, and Christine Hoppus (Harvey Siegel), and her grandsons Aaron Hoppus and Adam Hoppus.
