Duane D. Moore was laid to rest at the High Lake Cemetery on Monday, August 22, 2022, with Vicar Kim Campbell as Officiant. 

Duane D Moore, son of Lee and Dorothy (Paugh) Moore, was born in Estherville, Iowa on October 9, 1935. He passed away on August 18, 2022, at Valley Vue Care Center, surrounded by his family at the age of 86 years.

Duane graduated from Ringsted High School and attended one year at Capital City Commercial College. On July 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sandra Carlson in Lakota, Iowa. He farmed and drove a semi throughout his life, working for numerous companies as an owner/operator, and also enjoyed carpentry.

Duane was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong where he was active in the Property Action Team, taught Sunday school and was a deacon. Duane enjoyed growing grapes and making wine, which led him to become a member of the Grape Grower’s Association. Duane cherished his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Duane also enjoyed taking camping trips.

Duane is survived by his wife Sandy of Armstrong; his children Dan (Denette) Moore, Dawn (Tom) Umscheid, and Doran (Angie) Moore; niece, Tracie (Brian) Schnell; his grandchildren Dustin (Judy) Moore, Darbie (Corey) Schreiber, Dylan and Lexi Moore, Dayna and Dyson Umscheid, and Hailey, Emily, and Zach Schnell; and  great-grandchildren, Rylee Moore and Whitney and Jesse Schreiber. He is also survived by his siblings Roy (Sherry) Moore, and Charles (Jackie) Moore; and sister-in-law, Peggy (Chuck) Umscheid.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law Thomas Umscheid, his sister Margie (Vern) Powell, and his brothers Gene (Ellen) Moore and Dean (Dorothy) Moore; and mother and father-in-law, Doris and Maurice Carlson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Nazareth Lutheran Church.
