Funeral Mass for Jane (Schiltz) Woolcott was held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bancroft. The funeral was live streamed on the Divine Mercy Parish YouTube page. Burial was in the church cemetery. A Rosary began at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 with visitation to follow until the time of service at the church.
Jane Margaret (Schiltz) Woolcott was born December 14, 1947 on the farm in Bancroft; daughter of Constantine and Margaret (Wilhelmi) Schiltz. Born and raised in Bancroft, she graduated from St. John’s High School in 1966.
Jane married Floyd Woolcott and together they spent 35 years building a life in Florence, SD.
Jane was known for her easy smile and mischievous spirit. A true prankster at heart, she loved to bring laughter and joy to those around her. In addition to her quick wit, Jane enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, and Sudoku. She was also a passionate fan of westerns, often keeping them on in the background at all hours of the day. She showed her creative side through her love of sewing and she took great pride in making beautiful pieces. Above all, Jane deeply cherished her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Jane died Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in Watertown, SD. She was 76.
She is survived by her husband Floyd of Florence, SD; siblings, Christine Schiltz of OH, George Schiltz of CA, Ann Schulte and her husband Bernard of MN, Mary Joan Jozwiak of MI; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Dave and Deanna LeVasseur and Linda Richter.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Constantine and Margaret Schiltz; and siblings Steve Schiltz and Carol Schiltz.
