A celebration of life for Elnora M. Madden will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Ringsted, Iowa, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Suzanne Wobig as officiant.

Elnora will be laid to rest at Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong, Iowa.

Elnora Mamie Madden, daughter of Thomas and Martha (Anderson) Olson, was born in Emmet County, Iowa, on July 18, 1922. She passed away at Main Street Manor Assisted Living in Swea City on August 28, 2024, at the age of 102.

Elnora graduated from Maple Hill High School and later Estherville Junior College. She taught school for one year in Dolliver and then country school for a few years. On February 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to Loren Madden in Fairmont, Minnesota.

Elnora was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ringsted, where she was active in the ladies’ circle, the United Presbyterian Women, and was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed doing embroidery.

Elnora is survived by her children Michael (Cheryl) Madden, Harley Madden, Alan (Debra) Madden, and Gary (Brenda) Madden; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.

Elnora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loren in 1992, and her brothers Thomas Olson Jr, Arnold Olson, and Kenneth Olson.
