A Celebration Of Life for James H. Justice was held at the Ringsted First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with Pastor John Hanna officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest at a later date in the Ringsted Memorial Cemetery, Ringsted, Iowa.
James H Justice, was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa on October 1, 1941, to Harold and Myrtle (Birdsall) Justice. He passed away at Estherville Community Care Center on March 31, 2026 at the age of 84.
Jim was raised in Ringsted and graduated from Ringsted High School in 1959. Following high school he farmed on his family farm. On August 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Juanita Jensen in Ringsted. Jim and Juanita started their married life on the farm and eventually moved into town. Throughout the years he also worked as a mechanic at the local implement; he retired from full-time farming in 1976 and began working at the Ringsted Coop, retiring from there in 2002. Jim and Juanita enjoyed spending many winters in Texas.
Jim was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ringsted. He shared his faith with others by teaching Sunday school, ushering, and being a church elder as well as the church grounds keeper. He had the honor of being the elder when most of his grandchildren were baptized. In their younger years the family enjoyed camping together. Later, Jim and Juanita enjoyed traveling together. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching westerns. Jim cared most for this family and his church.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife of over 64 years Juanita Justice of Ringsted; his children Joyce (Joe) Richmond of Armstrong and John Justice of Sherburn; his six grandchildren Cory Cheever (Julie), Chris (Sarah) Cheever, Callie (Austin) Zenkovich, Nicholas Varner (Miranda), Jenika Justice and Amber Justice (Jon); and seven great- grandchildren Calissa Cheever, Aaron Cheever, Matteo Zenkovich, Miles Zenkovich, Maizey Justice, Zane Eldridge, and Kinsley Eldridge. He is also survived by his siblings JoAnn Heerdt of Milford, Irma Ostedgaard of Ringsted, Sandra Ettesvold of Fairmont, Ray (Teal) Justice of Lawrenceville, GA, and Phillip (Linda) Justice of Milford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don (Glorian) Justice, sister Nancy (Bob) Bach, brothers-in-law Gene Ostedgaard and Loren Ettesvold, nephews William and Barry Bach, and niece Christina Justice.
